Robert St. Angelo was born in Astoria, Queens, NY. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Flushing, Long Island, NY. Bob Graduated from Flushing High School where he played his favorite sport, Football. While a young man, Bob worked in the family luncheonette.
In 1950, when the Korean War began, Bob enlisted in the US Air Force. In his fours years in the Air Force, three of them were spent in England on a Royal Air Force (RAF) base where he managed the US Aircraft Hanger Parts department. Bob met his wife Dorothy while stationed in England. They married in 1953 before returning to the U.S.
Upon his return home, Bob joined Merrill Lynch, a major stock brokerage firm, where he spent 39 years. While with Merrill Lynch, he managed International Operations and created a subsidiary firm, Broadcast Capital, which cleared customer activity for other brokerage firms. Bob also spent some time in Canada, managing Merrill Lynch’s Canadian operations.
He retired from Merrill Lynch in 1993 as a Vice President. Upon his retirement, he joined the non-profit volunteer organization SCORE, an organization that helps counsel small business entrepreneurs in the process of business start-up and/or expansion. While with SCORE, Bob managed the Tons River Chapter and ultimately joined the SCORE Board of Directors.
Bob and Dorothy relocated to the Four Seasons at Mirage in 2000. Since their move to Mirage Bib has been President of the Mirage Men’s Club and has chaired the community’s Finance Committee. Now it is bowling and bocce. Life is good!
